Rob, I've had almost the same issue. It turned out to be the oil cooler seals. The oil was seeping under the dog house around the distrubutor area. Changed the seals... dry like a bone.

I'm going to get another pully and give it a try. But first I tourqed down my drgree pulley. I didn't have it as *tight* as it should. It was tight, but not quite tourqed. I'm going to test it like this for a day or 2, if it's still slinging oil I'm going to try another pully.

Maybe because I also machined my own spacer for the degree pully may have something to do with it??

With the stock pulley there is clearance there when new. It is intended to be that way. It doesn't touch anything, so there's no contact and no wear. There IS an oil return thread which can sometimes get clogged up with dirt, but that really doesn't cause any problems.

This would be different if you had a sand seal and the special pulley that it requires.

Spacer? Where did you think you needed a spacer? Not sure, but I think you may have just mentioned the cause of the problem....

It needs a spacer. Without it, the pulley sits tight against the tin and won't turn.

Pulleys I see at the local store come with a spacer that fits in there. My spacer is the exact size as the ones they sell. My pulley sits out normally now and sits in line with my alt pulley.
