rear window for `73 1303 with defog (NEW)?

Is this like unobtanium or what?

The glass on mine is fine, but the defog is shot. I tried the permatex repair kit, but I need to redo _many_ inches of all 8 grids and it really doesn't help and turned out ugly to boot.

I have a conductive pen (1mm width) on order [used for printed circuit board repair] so I'll see how that goes.. I think it might work..

Well, There is no known source for that glass thatm I know of after many searches for it. Over many years. I recommend you purchase a rear window defroster kit and use the VW eletrics to power it. I know of an aftermarket kit by Audiovox that works pretty nicely if you just follow the instructions on grid installation.

or you could buy one on ebay..........this one looks nice.

The Peacemaking Meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to a conflict.

If I had clean glass without defog, the kit sounds like the ticket for sure. When I cleaned off the old corroded brass, the baked-on paint stayed. A razor blade won't get under it. Putting down a new trace on top of the paint base sounds like the right way to go.

I'll see what this condutive pen can do when I get it. If I fail this, I'll try the kit method and retop the grid lines.
