Hi all!
Is it possible to just keep the fans running in the heating system (to just get some fresh air from the outside) on a 2000 Passat? Or does the AirCon has to be always on?

I don't know about your specific car, but most cars only run the AC when the AC or the Defrost is turned on.
ECON button works without turning on the AC compressor.
If you have climatronic, use the ECON setting.
if no climatronic there should be an A/C button that you can turn off.
