I want, I want, I want

Nice. Well I'm partway there already. My 525i SE has exactly the same type wheels.:-) Mike.

Bloody expensive, but I would love this. Maybe in a few years when it's a bit cheaper, if someone wants to get shot of it.

No chance.

A diesel BWM will never be a classic.

Minicab, maybe. But definitely not a classic ;-)

Must have another look - I like the "M" badge preceding the "d" :-)

And the fact that they've included a copy of the invoice showing how much they paid for it. I'd love to work for them and have the choice of cars they've got in stock to jump into and drive for the weekend! (look at their ebay shop)

Hey, Tim Kemp could have a go at keeping the needle at the 10mpg end of the scale for as long as possible :-)

Hmmmm...I don't like BMWs, as a rule, but that one *is* nice!

And all for a about the price of a new Cooper S.

Yep, uprated version, according to the auction, turbo starts spinning at

1700rpm instead of 2200rpm. That's complete bollocks as the turbo's always spinning while the engine's running - I think they mean full boost/peak torque. Sounds good to me.

Obviously this ain't cheap, and it's still got a fair bit of depreciating to do, but this is good as a new car at around 1/3rd of the original price bar a few miles (well, it's a second hand car basically!) and I reckon this could seriously be a future classic, a good investment methinks.

Still, I reckon it'd be a better investment buying it in another 4-5 years' time for £6-7k :-)

530d is one of the only diesels I'd think twice about racing against.

Oh, I was in a Ka this morning! Went to use it in the intended manner [1]. I'd forgotten just how scooty they are. Heh, they're fun!

[1] Went to Kwik Save for some milk [2] [2] Had to put a seatbelt round the milk bottle due to there being nowhere in a Ka you can put things like milk bottles if you're intending having a giggle..

Pah, it was the Kwikky or CoffeeMate(tm). I'd have bought milk from the Lidl if it'd been nearer

Besides, the Kwikky car park was empty, it was 7.45am, and Kas are capable of very silly handbrake turns!

AstraVanMan ( snipped-for-privacy@WithThanks.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

Woooh, hold on...

The auction claims full BMWDSH.

The photo of the service book is abysmally out of focus, but seems to suggest the last service stamp was last Nov at 38k, NOT the 57k the auction claims.

It's lost nearly £40k in three years...

Nah, mate - BMWs don't depreciate...

Not much they don't - they paid just 30% of the original price, less than three years old... 70% depreciation. That's worse than a bloody Kia!

I think the word you're looking for is "sooted"

Hmm, if it won't fit into the door pockets, most bottles can cope with fast cornering in the centre bottle holder (behind the handbrake, in front of the rear seat) or, failing this, either in the netted storage bit in the boot or that huge storage bin in the drivers side rear wheelarch.

In news:XHbOc.1099$ snipped-for-privacy@newsfe1-gui.ntli.net, AstraVanMan decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

it'll be less than that in 4-5 years time. It's a nice E39. It'll struggle to be worth £3k. Other than the M5, E39s will fall out of bed exactly the same way E34s and E28s did. Think about it, you nearly bought a 9 year old

540i Touring for less than £1500 a few weeks back, and it wasn't even worth /that/ much.
