Best Lift kit for 2000 F150 4x4

Oct 28, 2003 4 Replies

Hey, I want to lift my F150 Supercab 4X4 up to atleast 6". With so many lift kits on the market it's hard to choose. Any opinions? How difficult is it to do the install? I've lifted a Jeep with leaf springs and it was pretty easy to do the install. Just wondering if the same holds true for the truck.

Input appreciated. Scott

Whatever lift you choose it will not be as easy as your jeep was. The rear can be done with springs/blocks but the front with the torsion bar set-up will be much more difficult with drop brackets and such.

Contact your nearest 4 wheel drive centers for a quote to install. I prefer the fabtech unit for the Ford but that is just my opinion.

What's the going price for the Fabtech kit. I've seen most at around $1500. Sound about right?

Be sure to check with your insurance. Often times adding a lift kit will nullify your coverage. many guys don't know this, do it any way and discover that after they have an accident, the carrier won't payout.
