Ranger Door Hinge Fix (1993 Xtended Cab). Need Help! (2023 Update)

In reference to a 1993 Ford Ranger, the door hinges are worn out and the doors sag. It appears as if the hinges are rivetted onto the frame of the truck. I wanted to go to the junk yard and pull some hinges off a junk truck to replace these, but this will not work. Does anyone have any experience with changing/fixing the door hinges on the small ranger pickup truck (1993)? I'd be very appreciative for some information on how to do this as the sagging doors are making it real tough to get into and out of this truck, and slamming the door is ruining the striker mechanism and other door parts. Thank so much in advance!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if there was a change from 93 to 94 but the service manual for the 94 shows each hinge is held onto the frame by 1 nut accessible from the other side.

Hey JB Here's something I copied from here a while back...not mine, but you may get some good from it.... Pete "Some of the usual auto parts stores apparently sell a door hinge kit to fix this problem. The kit is actually just a replacement pin and bushing. Some have seen it listed as the Ford F-150 hinge pin kit and others have mentioned that it might be for "Most Fords 1985 and up". Do your homework and make sure it can be returned if it is not the right part.

Also, most people seem to be getting satisfactory results by just replacing the lower hinge and not messing with the vastly more involved replacement of the upper hinge (which requires removal of a lot of the dash). "

The hinges are the same for the ranger and explorer. Looked at the 93 ford service manual and it stated that the hinges are bolt on, I then went out and looked at my 93 ranger and ford was right, Both upper and lower bolt on. The part Numbers are; 22800, Hinge Assembly, Front Door, Upper, and 22806, hinge and Check Assembly, Front Door, Lower. The bolts are N803417.

If you have a link where I can find door hinges for a '88 ranger I would appreciate it.The spring that holds the door open is missing.Anyone think this can be made to fit the hinge? Thanks.

You can buy 'em from Ford, I just bought a set for a Bronco, they had them in stock.

My 1993 Ranger upper door hinge has a bolt and a big rivet on the body side. I made the mistake of taking that bole out and evidently a plate or something that it fasted to fell down and now there is a big hole. I did replace the hinge pin and bushings which fixed the saging, then I had to weld the body hinge to the body instead of taking everything apart and replacing the bolt!
