Help: Adding fobs to circa 1999 EVS

Aug 11, 2007 3 Replies

When I first got my TJ in 99, I knew I'd be parking it in a questionable neighborhood as part of my commute, so I purchased and installed an EVS (II? III?... whatever was for sale in '99). One of my key fobs was recently destroyed, but I have another. Unfortunately, I can no longer locate the installation manual and I can't remember the programming cycle past "Open the door, turn the key, hold the hidden button until the I hear three chirps."

Can anyone help out with the programming instructions? Google didn't turn up anything.

Cheers

I'm thinking your need a DRB-III scanner tool:

Nope. It's not the SKIS. It's one of these:

There's a programming sequence to add the fobs and enable and disable features. I can get the system to tell me that it sees the fob during the first phase of the programming sequence -- pressing buttons on the fob causes chirps, but I can't seem to figure out how to seal the deal.

Evidently not, or you wouldn't have gotten it wrong again.
