I would have someone check on the condition of the clutch cable. Sometimes, through repeated use, it begins to stretch and eventually break. It is not an easy part to find, but any transmission specialist would take a quick look and tell you what he thinks.
Hope this helps.

KIA?s have a very easy, easy clutch there is not much resistance.
You ca tighten the clutch cable, but it still is not alot.
I own a 03 Spectra and I had our mechanic tighten it as much as he could and still it is very easy.
Sorry I could not help you further the way you would have liked.
