Anyone else had the plastic 'T' water pipe juction break Freelander V6?

Has anyone else had the plastic 'T' joining junction (connects water pipes to expansion bottle) break? This is the second time mine has broken, emptying the water completely.

Last time, a few months ago, it cost me over £160 (I guess the value of the small plastic T piece, at 10p?) Landrover claiming it has to come compete with the rubber hose to the expansion bottle (not the bottle, just rubber hose) ........seems a lot of money.

The car is a Freelander, V6 'X' 2000 reg.

If its just the T piece you need, try your local car spares shop, my local one stocks a wide range of different sized T pieces!

Try B&Q for a copper t-piece as commonly use in central heating systems. the little micro-bore one is probably the right sort of size.....

Thanks all for the advice.....

No, it wasn't due to frost, I had just reached my destination on each occasion before the thing broke, but, to pay £160 inc labour for a 10p piece of plastic, seemed too much..

yes we had this on a 1999 V6 ES, twice. Wife did not like the 'uncomfortable seats' plus it's love of fuel, made my RR look good. Swapped it for a T5 V70 Volvo:] Half the fuel and twice the fun!
