got problem with the heated rear window on the disco. switch it on the relay clicks and the fuse blows. checked for shorts as best i can. its supposed to have heated mirrors too. any one have any idea as to how to track down the problem?

Disconnect the wires from the rear window - does it still blow? If so, broken cables in the jumper from the body to door could be the culprit - or the insulation may have chafed through where the cable enters, or runs through, the chassis.

Heated mirrors should come on with the heated rear screen so your short circuit may be in the mirror system. TonyB

thanks for the help. i disconnected the mirror wiring in the footwell and it still blew the fuse. i think the next step will be to check the heater relay.

Are you sure? The Disco II has the mirror heaters associated with the front heated screen. This is all part of the "winter pack" of heated front seats, windscreen and mirrors.

Tony's right - they come on with the rear screen
