Hi group my Disco 2 MY2000 has not got a mechanical centre differential lock, can one be fitted? the vehicle has electronic traction control

I think that most if not all Disco's have everything bar the linkage fitted from standard. The question's come up on here in the past so you should find the answer on google.
ISTR that someone sells a kit to restore the missing bits so that you can lock the diff when required.
If it's got electronic traction control why do you need a centre diff, the ETC locks the wheel thats spinning and lets the others do the work.

Many reasons, the main one being that the ETC stops a wheel that has started spinning, whereas the difflock helps to prevent it spinning in the first place. I found the ETC to be brilliant on wet grass, and almost useless everywhere else. Bear in mind that only some of the early Discos were suitable to have the difflock reinstated. Mine (2001MY) was not, one of the reasons I got rid.
