Nothing wrong with it, it just kept losing traction as there was not enough weight to make the springs work and keep the wheels on the ground, so it kept stopping (this is trialling by the way), and on green lanes it was way too tall, without risking wrecking the hood and sticks alot of lanes were out of bounds. Still, it was an experience.......

LALALALALALALALALALALA can`t hear you, not listening. I still want one even if they are not ideal offroaders. Although........... *cunning plan takes shape* .................

I wonder if its possible to convert them to air suspension from a small commercial? Now how cool would that be! A 101GS with trick air suspension, a ride quality simillar to a rangerover, totally adjustable ground clearance and if you did lift a wheel - use the little box of tricks to lower the suspension on the oppsite wheel to get the airborne wheel back on the deck!

hmmmmmm - wonder how many of you lucky lucky 101 owners are now scratching your heads SERIOUSLY considering this and doing quick internet searches for prices?

/me tried to parse that as a tyre size and came up with a tyre which was 10 feet wide, 4 feet tall and good for 800MPH. Or about what they used to show being fitted to the Lawmaster motorbikes in Judge Dredd.

We're waiting for our Lightweight to be delivered. Bruce hasn't done any work today and he's supposed to be making a set of stairs for someone to fit this weekend. He's messed about moving things round in the garden to make some space for the Series 3 which needs repairing and decided that the caravan is in the way.

PS There was a thread on the 101 group on Yahoo about just this topic. It seems to me to be feasible and economic.

On or around Fri, 28 Nov 2003 10:03:16 -0000, "Paul - xxx" enlightened us thusly:

all things are possible. some are not practical, but all are possible. I'd go for a V8 plus 4-speed auto. Mind, I know where there's a kit for doing just that, in the form of a rusty RR. 3.5efi, 4-speed auto. can;t afford it though, and importing another dead vehicle for spares would get large sarcasm here.

No, not yet. Roger, Six Stud Editor did it earlier this year. Seems to work find - removes the negative cambre and acts as a self level device when camping on uneven ground.

Indeed, ta muckly!

That reminds me, I need to chuck a cheque in with your new membership card :-)

Hadn't thought of it like that. When the Lightweight gets here later on/tomorrow morning we'll only have to get two more and that should be us sorted then;-) All we need to do now is decide if we should have 2 101's or stick to just the 1 and get something else like a land rover ambulance or a land rover fire engine;-))

LOL, that's what we figured, it's possible, not necessarily practical .. but that's what we have the Disco for .. ;)

We need to sort some finances out first though, or for me to actually get a reasonable job might do .. ;)
