Off road day

Anyone know of an "off-road" day or club offering such near to Bristol. I have never done this before, so would need some guidance on the day ideally. I am considering the local clubs, but would like some personal advice from your experience.

What things do I need to have for a first venture (I have the land rover already!!)

Cheers,

Frazer

Make sure any toolbox, jack, etc are secure. Vehicle battery secure (a legal requirement anyway, but not in the MoT). Fuel tank between 1/2 and 3/4 full. I've seen low-mounted towballs and trailer lighting sockets get a hammering.

Check how you can secure a tow-rope.

In my experience, the courses have various options, and need not be too demanding. But over the day they deteriorate. Arrive early, and you have the chance to have a look, maybe ride with an experienced driver.

Sites vary, and I'd be inclined to avoid somewhere notorious for mud.

Which reminds me, take a pair of good boots.
