"Has vibration from propshafts which is NORMAL"

I bet they all say that...

so have you decided to rebuild him as a standard SII now?

the other day, a local LR nut was following me up from Lampeter in his RR, I in Edward II (standard 2¼ petrol LWB) and later he said "bloody hell, what engine have you got in that?" :-)

the secret is pedal to the metal and don't lift off :-)

Tis actually normal, mine does it only on overun and down hill. Others explode :0)

Jury is still out. The more I look at Standerd landies the more I like them. Would save alot of piddling around with chassis and engine mounts.

Would mean I have two spare V8's and auto box setup too. One spare adorns the garage floor.

My main motivator was my dickie knee which seems to have resolved it's self fortuantely. On the other hand I'm not as "hands on" at work as I used to be so perhaps that helps. The other motivator was the not dissimilar consumption of the 2 1/4 unit against the V8... bugger I've talked myself into it again....

I'd be delighted to welcome you back into the fold and take 20 quid off you... :-)

Hmmm... funny that, that's the theory I tried to adopt whilst towing that behemoth of a trailer back up the road! Must be another disease assosciated with the green oval. :-) Badger.

so Austin Shackles was, like...

And the 7 previous owners. No. 1 was the army, so who were the other 6, and why has it been through so many in about 17K miles? Not passing on a dog or anything is he?

I wondered about the propshaft comment as well.

I think i should get a discount for being a minority member.

Alex

Design fault with the front driveline, all 101's have it.

Alex

so Alex was, like...

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind when ....... hang on, she might be listening.

Yeah, alright. You buy it, I'll let you have the rest of this years membership at half price.

Actually, 'she' (well, Claire has been the one boring everyone to death with postings about JOK on uk-lro). I reckon it was an impulse buy. Silly thing to do with a 101 - too many have fallen by the wayside in the past - you either NEED one, or you should go buy a Shogun... Still, at least she didn't paint it pink...

Seeing they were going to sell it was almost as much as a surprise as finding out that Terry Wogan was Irish.

They all do that. GKN 2015 propshafts help cure it. If not, live with it - it's 'normal'.

You wait 'til you try it with 2T of green oval on the trailer as well :-)

There's a certain pleasing simplicity about a standard 2¼ though, plus they seem to last forever with even reasonable maintenance.

Then you can put the autobox into Morph. D&RFC.

And this is the tractor beam I'm trying to dodge.

Certainly considered it. But I doubt the IIa transfer box would be too impressed. H'mmmmm ..... git!
