This will certainly sound sad, but I did that with my tent pegs (big ex military jobbies) after I painted them yellow to stop people falling over them...

Nothing worse than falling over tent pegs, or in our case awning pegs.
Unfortunately the tank for a Suzuki GS1100 is not going to fit into the oven on the rayburn but the one for the Bultaco will. I do know someone with a kiln though. What temperature?

IIRC I set the temperature somewhere between 225-375°f, 110-190°c or gas mark 5. If you intend stoving freshly painted panels that have inflammable fumes still vaporising then turn off the pilot light (if it has one) or you could get a big boom!.
