Smiths industrial make a decent capilary gauge with a 3/8 BSP fitting that will fit in the hole in the cylinder head by the thermostat housing. Try a decent plant hire company.

Just a dumb question - but why in the radiator? The temperature will be up and down faster than a lady of the streets knickers. There is a fitting on the engine that accepts a wide range of heat sensors - electrical and mechanical.

because, ( i think ) that i could monitor water temp in real time, and see immediatly any problems.

im not convinced the rads doing a good enough job at the minuite what with a 2.8 diesel in with the standard rad,

alls fine in normal use but stick the van on the back and go up a hill or two and the temp gauge shows a drastic rise in temp.

just wanted to keep a more detailed eye on it.
