Someone can. I bet they'll want lots of money though. That's the problem with modern landies.

OK. Basics: have you checked all the fuses? And what *does* still work? Anything? Do you get the ancillaries come one? Radio? Lights etc?

In article , snipped-for-privacy@the-hug.org (Paul Oldham) growled:

Hmmm ... not that "URGENT" then.

It's generally good form (in society, as well as on Usenet) to give some feedback on whether help offered was useful or not.

It does piss me off when people first-time post with 'URGENT PROBLEM, HELP ME INSTANTLY' and then cannot be arsed to post a 'thanks that fixed it' or 'nope, still struggling' message. Your experience might be useful to others - that's how this stuff works.

But, welcome all the same :-)

You could try replying the questions Paul asked you. Sadly I won't see it.

Oh, do stop asking sensible questions and just go round and fix his Land Rover for him. He's been waiting ages, and it's URGENT...

Probably an urban legend, or simply plain bollocks, but there was a story about some woman calling the AA and asking if they'd honour their pledge to arrive within 30 minutes for her if she joined immediately - as it was very urgent.

"Yes" was the reply, you can pay such and such fee now...

The woman joined on the phone there and then with her credit card.

"Now, where have you broken down?" the telephonist asked?

"Oh, I haven't broken down" was the reply. "I just need you to send someone to open the boot of my car, ASAP".

"Why is it so urgent?"

"Well, I put my shopping in, and my handbag and closed the boot with the keys in the top of my handbag"

"Is that really urgent?"

"Yes, very! I put my 3 month old baby in there too whilst I was loading the shopping in..."

Heheheh .. ;)
