If you don't mind getting the car up to Markyate, near Dunstable, you wouldn't go far wrong taking it to my old mechanic. He's certainly very handy with Bosch EFI systems, having worked on my Alfas with KE-Jetronic.
He trades under the name of DFS, and charges £25+VAT / hour. Very reasonable for someone so bloody good.
petrolcan ( snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :
There's a place behind the Total petrol station on the A414 between Hatfield and St Albans that reckons to be a VW specialist.
Beyond seeing their sign, I know nothing.
This month's Practical Classics magazine has an article explaining how to fix the most common K-Jetronic problems.
May be worth a look first.
