================= Judging by the picture they're actually axle stands, not 'jacks'. This pair might be OK on a flat surface but they probably wouldn't be much good on rough ground. I like to use the more conventional type with 3 separate legs for stability.

I think he's talking about the footprint of the axlestands. Which if you look at the picture he linked to is indeed too small to be of much use in real-life. Probably OK in a workshop with a nice smooth level floor though.

I wouldn't even use 1+3 axle stands on rough ground if I'm under the car. A solid hard surface is essential.

I suspect he may be referring to the axle stands shown in the picture, as opposed to the trolley jack. It does look as if they need a much bigger base plate, and the tops don't look too clever either..

I know that CE-marking is poor safety proof. Anyone could put that sticker and if a chinese factory does it it is quite hard to do anything about it. If the factory were an EU one it could be possible to do something but EU can't do much in China. :-(
