i recently had cause to call the aa to get into my 99 vectra as the keys were locked in the boot (dont ask) ever since the very nice man put his long tool thingy down in the drivers door to pop the central locking i cannot unlock the door with the key, i can however lock it with the key, i can also lock and unlock it with the remote, any ideas?

He's probably disengaged the lock from the actual locking mechanism doohickey. Whip the door card off and reconnect what's popped off.
Not if it can still be locked with the key..
It might have bent a rod or folded a bit of anti-picking flimsy metal into the way. The end result is the same - take the door card off and have a fiddle.
