Possibly it's a retro thing. My dad's 1951 75 was in something like Wedgewood Blue. With the majority of cars at the time being black, sombre colours might have been expected yet this pale blue seemed a popular choice at the time.

I'd say petrol in the B10 is better value than almost any other petrol.

That's still semi-decent. Most of the prices I saw on my trip from London to Stafford and back were around the 85.9-88.9 mark for normal unleaded.

I believe so. My car had £8970 of extras when new, it doesn't have the flash stereo, sport seats or sat-nav.

I'm glad I didn't pay the new price, but I am saving for a new B5 touring all the same... :)

I accept that just because I bought it cheap doesn't mean I can maintain it for the same cost as a £15k car - it will cost ~£1k/yr to service, tyres will cost £200 a corner and wear quickly, none of its consumables will be available at bargain stores...

I use hand controls to drive so an auto is less optional but I reckon an ALPINA might make a better daily driver than an M.

Buy one and enjoy. :)

Tim, give your insurance company a call, and ask how much extra it would be to insure an Alpina B10. Then tell us. Just out of interest, like.

They won't insure them - I'm with the Volvo owners insurance company...
