wiper live wire has no power .........

wiper live wire has no power .....

i have a 2002 vauxhall astra club estate, the wipers do not returne to the bottom when they are turned off. i have checked for constant power on the green wire that goes to the motor, there is no power going to the motor, if i feed power to the green (permanent live) the wipers work properly, the problem i have , is, that i cannot find where the wire go to behind the dash. do any one know where the wire go to? do it go to a fuse (all fuses are ok) or do it go to a relay or just to a wire that is live when the ignition is on?

take a feed from anything that is live with the ignition or even something that is permanently live as it will take no power once the wipers stop.

It is often not worth tracing the original fault, quicker just to bypass it.

thats what i thought, i just wanted to be sure, incase it went through a relay, any idea what ampage a fuse would have to be for the wipermotor? if i by pass the original wireing i would rather put a "inline fuse" just in case.

about a 10 amp would be average, you could probably use a 5amp, try it, either would be quite safe, the worst thing that would happen if too low is that it will blow and not park.
