Cool Stuff for a Miata

Okay, my worrying over my new (used) '97 Miata is coming to an end and now I'm thinking of what to buy for it next to make it "cooler". Was wondering what cool items y'all have added to your Miata. My first inclination is to get a rear spoiler, I found one online, painted and shipped for around $230. Don't know if that's a good price or not. What else makes a Miata look better??? I already have cool wheels. Was thinking that since its almost time for new tires I could find some raised white letter tires, I always thought they looked great. Also was thinking of adding those thick parallel racing stripes. I know this is a silly post but hey, its my post.

I've yet to see any after market spoiler that looks good on a Miata. All the ones I have seen are way too big.

Sounds like you are more interested in fluff than substance. You might be better off asking in one of the other import car groups. Those folks regularly add all the kewl stuff you want to their cars.

Do not pass Go. Do not collect $100.

Seriously, got to the marketplace at miata.net and check out the stuff available. Frankly, I'm more concerned with performance, handling and safety than appearance. Upgrade your suspension. Get stickier tires or lighter wheels. Lots of folks here have been there and done that so there's plenty of folks here to answer questions.

But appearance, hey, whatever floats your boat. The Miata has such a classic look, why bother tarting the car up?

All in my Not So Very Humble Opinion.

When I was young and bought my first sports car (18 yrs old buying a 5 yr old 240Z) I was rambling to the previous owner that I thought I'd put outlined white letter tires on it (all the rave at the time) and some other flashy items and he set me straight telling me that the 240Z was more 'european' in fashion, not flashy. He explained that european cars didn't have white letter tires and such. It's just a whole different 'cool'. Not flash but 'content'. I came to understand it and love it, you probably will too because the Miata is that kind of car also.

Enjoy, Chris

I love the wide dual parallel racing stripes. Mine has narrow ones further apart, which look good too, but I think the wide ones look better. I'd get those, but I'd pass on the white letter tires and probably the spoiler, although I think the factory ones look good, and spend my money on performance stuff.

to see all the things that can be done and added to these cars, cosmetic and functional. (it's like a broken record isn't it?)

I got the AC Control Rings "This set of 3 aluminium rings dresses up the air conditioning controler switches. This is a great compliment to our vent rings and other chrome and polished interior pieces. Sold as a set of 3 rings." For FREE from Brainstorm Products when I bought a header. Just threw them in with the deal, I didn't even ask for them. They make the heater control panel look better, IMHO.
