Oh, and like a good car salesman, I forgot to point out:

Passenger electric window doesn't work. I have a replacement motor though. If the weather's OK, I'll fix it this weekend. Boot lock doesn't open. See above. Rear seats won't latch into place. See above.

Pretty minor things but annoying.

They are not supposed to act as a silencer, they are supposed to help make that annoying whistling rasp. "tunable" is what they sell them as :o(

Hmm, ISTR that Vamp, Astravanman, and Carl Gibbs are southern shandy drinkers. maybe Astravanman coulkd become Porschebanman for a little while. They have good load capacity once the boot is open, and the engine is well proven as a load hauler.

I think some oil consumption in a Porker engine (maybe just the "Real ones" no disrepect meant) is normal, like alfa engines. If you want an engine to rev and perform, you got to be prepared for it use a little oil, and keep an eye on it.

I wouldn't put ot past PeteM to travel, but I don't think he'd go that far for a (no offence) slightly shabby looking 924.

AstraPorscheMan has enough cars on his plate at the moment I think.

gravesend is only an hour or so away i'd say depending on traffic :) but i have no interest in a porsche 924 as i have a MR2 turbo which is quicker and probably a tad in better condition :)

Yeah, but then you could have a Shabby chic Porsche for posing and a tubby 2 for when you need to prove something. And a "my other car is a Porsche" sticker.

It sits on 185's, which remarkably give a very decent amount of grip - it definately handles very well indeed. If you push it too hard, however, the back will sort of very gently start to drift away - easy to keep under control and keep on the road, but pretty good fun!

None taken. I got it in that condition and have done my best to slowly improve it and look after it. It's had a new exhaust, new engine mounts, new rear tyres and a dropped door re-welded. I would have continued with it over the summer - getting some of the bodywork improved (it's 20 years old, it's not going to look brand new!) but this 944 come along just at a time when I was starting a new project and I'm earning more money.

I think it's a seriously great car and really rocks - but it's sorta for the right person. I have a leather jacket with a similar colour stripe across it. When I started driving it, people started calling me Starsky/David Hasselhoff & referencing the 70's a lot. Women seem to like it as well ;)

tbh I need to sell it fairly quick, so I'd consider offers. It's difficult to price up how much a car like this is worth - I reckon around 8/900 quid. If I had some history to back up the low milage, probably a lot more. All I can say is from the state of the interior and the engine, I reckon it's about right.

Heh. What's this 'bit rich' stuff about.... I've just spent £2k on a car, ffs! and my bike is worth a lot more than that (£4.5k when I bought it).

I wanted a 924 when Timo was selling his a couple of years ago, but didn't want to swap an Alfa for one at the time, and also had a 124 Spider in the garage.

Not very I'd have said as they have a rear transaxle gearbox which puts plenty of weight over the rear wheels.
