Absolutely. This is the usenet equivalent of "I'll get my brother onto you". Presumably Stevens thinks that by invoking some imaginary third party he can issue these threats and disassociate himself from any blame - "it wasn't me, miss". You really wouldn't beleive this was coming from a man of his advanced years.
