Abo gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:

But it's a 1.3. Honest, Mr. Insurance.

Look, it says so on the auction details and the logbook... Sho'nuff, checking the plate comes back with "1.3".

Some people really do seem to think that the rest of the world is as stupid as they are.

Classic car insurance doesn't seem to worry so much about the performance.

As a second vehicle on a modified policy with limited mileage, why not?

My 2.8i V6 Capper tuned to Stage 3 with a shitload of performance mods=20 declared was only =A330 dearer than my mostly standard 2L Laser.

Indeed. I sat there waiting for a trousering when I declared the mods for my new Capri only to be told the "administration charge" was more than the rise in premium.

Yeah, forgot about policies like that...

I used to have two. I could insure a 900T16 and a 2.8i Capri together for less than the cost of a Mondeo, when I was 26 or so! Both limited mileage, but I had two cars, so it didn't matter. Yes, I did tell the insurance company I didn't have a normal car as a 1st car too :-)
