Two.
Oh, right.
*shrugs*ISTR there were many more petrols than dervs anyway.
Odd you mention the MPG. I was looking at that, several places said, not good, but better arround town than the 1.8T.
I'd be surprised. Even if I absolutely caned my 1.8T it rarely dropped below 26mpg.
You drive like a girl if the worst you can get round town is 26mpg ;)
I'm talking tank averages. 'In town' isn't something I measure in particular, as all cars are s**te in traffic.
I used a whole tank in town a few weeks back, in the really cold weather with the air con/heaters/heated bits on all the time and got 26mpg average over a tank. I usually get like, 35ish if there's some nice runs. I once got 47mpg on a run, not particulary trying to be economical (because that's just boring...).
Aye, but you've got a girlie little 1.6 :-P
Does anyone actually spend enough time 'in town' to get a full tank average?
Maybe they do, and it's just that the last 2 places I've lived have been pretty traffic-free.
Timing chains (simplex on upto mid 94 cars) a known weak point on anything over 120k miles. Replacement means engine and box out, split and most of the engine dismantled! There are two chains, and 3 guides. About 175quid for the parts.
Unfortunatley the crank cog wheel is often worn and....its not removable from the crank = new crank. 360quid thank you very much.
Avoid. Thirsty too.
(alot of dead Caravelle, Sharan and Galaxy VR6's about because of this)
Tim..
Audi - 45mpg. Driving on a mix of town driving / A roads / Motorway / B road thrashing. If I tried it would easily do 50mpg, but 45 is good enoguh for me.
Alfa - I kid myself it's 30mpg. In reality it's never as good as that. That's why I don't use it doing 90 ish miles a day like the Audi
I find that hard to believe.
Yeah, I can get that out of a small diesel hatch.
In a tin foil 206!
Technically, it can't be, really. Keep the revs. town on a 1.8T and it positively sips the fuel - you can spend all day driving one under 2k rpm if you're not in a hurry.
*cough* lack of mechanical sympathy *cough*
See, you are Dervy AICMFF Data sheets :-D
Interestingly, had the Toyota for a week now. Trip computer reading 38.6mpg with my right foot, 49mpg with hers....
Nah i never do normally, I just didn't have reason to venture out of Lincoln, which has the slowest most conjested road system EVER, and managed to get through a full tank.
Not really, it's just something I learned from the last 2 miles crawl into Hereford in the mornings and back out in the evenings.
