Meaty :) Is that big sticky up thing just the air intake then? And those red bits in the holes open up to let air in when you press the throttle, Mad Max style? Are those massive intakes effective? It looks like a good way to get a hell of a lot of cold air in, but won't you get a lot of rain in as well, if it's raining, that would soak the filters?

The big holes let a lot of air into the sticky up Supercharger. Dunno what they do about filtration on something like that

Do the benefits out weigh the negatives - such as the vision imparement? I know that doesn't really matter cos you'll be able to see where you're going and it'll hardly block anything, and even then, not for very long. Also, if it means you get loads more power it's totally worth it anyway.

Surely it's just for effect? No need for ram with a supercharger - and a low intake finds colder air.

Filters? Sorry but there are none and a drop of water wont hurt. Benefits outweigh the advantages? Obviously, boost from zero, unlike girly turbos and the sound...

I meant the benefits of it sticking up out of the bonnet. I know how superchargers work...

Oh well its an old style blower kit that used to be availably cheaply for a Rover V8. It sits in the v and the carbs sit on top of it directly. The bug catcher sort of covers them up and looks better than a bunch of bell mouths sticking up in the air instead. And its not much higher. It also gives good cold air and stops fuel stand off / flashbacks/ etc should there be any from splattering all over the windscreen. Although its a bit big for a little rover engine.

Not exactley a Q car is it.
