Heat the film with a hair dryer and it should then just peel off easily.

Usually it can be cleaned off with methylated spirit. Work with the doors open, meths is nasty stuff if you breathe in too much of it.

Meths or those citrus wipes you can get from Tesco. Apparently it's good at removing years old glue off caravans and vans according to the missus.

Oh yes, the Tesco wipes are good as well. I've used them to remove encrusted grime from cookers. I don't know what's on them but it dissolves grease and glue.

Pull on it. Then when it's off, white spirit or something get's the gunk off.

Incidentally, there is no legal requirement for a rear window, and it can be as dark as you like. The front sides must let 70% of light through, which isn't much less than they allow through from the factory.

"DanB" gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:

Makes perfect sense, when you think about vans...
