toyota avensis mini review.

Ride: OK, bit bouncy at motorway speeds, seems to get light at fast motorway speeds. Not like a mondeo, more like an old Vectra.

Handling: Torque steer. Understeer. Sometimes both. Steering too light. Not like a mondeo

Controls: Pedal feel is crap. Clutch light but springy and not very progressive. Brakes feel odd. Accelerator way too light, not much action until near the floor. Not like a mondeo.

Comfort: Seats are horrid, but it's very quiet - almost no wind noise or engine noise, quieter than my merc, quieter than a mondeo.

Interior: The bits that aren't boring look cheap. Just like a mondeo.

Engine: Very quiet, powerful enough, very economical (diesel of some kind). Smooth too, not like a mondeo.

First day verdict: If it was the size of a mondeo with the comfort, ride and handling of a mondeo it would beat the mondeo, but really just buy a petrol mondeo instead. Or an insignia.

What's the dashboard like? How many Italian car parts would fit in the boot? Do the cup holders delicately slide out with a little instrumental piece playing in the background? Does it have a built-in Bluetooth kit?

And that was the last message he sent.
