turboing a ford 2.9 v6

Amazingly, and this is probabaly a first, you're not wrong. A Porsche 911 Turbo will do 50-70 in second.

However....

Mason The Point

I was using the fact a TT Sierra is quicker than a contemporary 911 from

50-70 in 5th to show the flexibility and torque thats available in one. Not to say "My car's quicker than a 911 Turbo." Of course the 911 would murder it in a race. That's not the issue. The issue is how the engine delivers the goods.

The Sierra will, however, obliterate a Rover 620Ti ;-)

it depends on the state of the conversion though a proper minker spec TT sierra will just about bat anythng of the same year off the face of the planet and they are geared for 170 top end so it's not as if anything newer is going to give them trouble on the motorway either (155 limited as most things are today :) )

they last very well in impacts :)

the only problem is that that is NOT a TT engine and if he's got the wrong manifolds on it in the first place (exhaust) that means he may not have the heads that go with it lots of questions need to be asked here you need the whole TT loom (what the f*ck is he on about superchips for?!?!?!?!) exhaust manifolds turbos to match downpipes intercooler + pipes heads possibly pistons (though standard ones will work) and if you are planning on fitting git to a 2wd car, then you'll need a sump as well as the TT sump is modified to take the turbo oil returns either side

It bloody well should do :) :) :)

Well there's only one way to find out and i'm not going to start asking the guy is im not going to buy it. I presumed it was a technics engine, becuase I didnt think there was another twin turbo kit manufacturer, for the sierra.

but would you have seriously paid for something if you didn't know that it had bits missing? one of the pictures looks very deceiving as it's got the exhaust manifold at the wrong angle so it look slike it's the right one but the other one shows it to be the wrong one the inlet side of things is all present and correct, but unless you want to ask him to list each past he's got for the TT kit, the manifolds and boost pipes are a must everything else can be "made" to fit

In news:ckjigr$eco$ snipped-for-privacy@news6.svr.pol.co.uk, dojj decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

easiest way to tell proper TT manifolds is they've got TT cast into them.

which is why i'm sceptical of this guy as he says he's got marigolds and turbos and pipework he's willing to sell seperatly he's willing to sell bits of the kit with the engine but others seperatly the only conclusion is that he doens't know what he's got and doens't realise that the extra injectors are part of the TT kit and if he has only swapped the marigolds over then how does he know the heads are TT heads rather than normal heads it's worth a risk, but it's not worth risking £400 on a risk
