All Volunteer Military a Failure

What good company? Name some reputable members (i.e., not GW Bush, Dick Cheney, neocons, or any military fliers who've never been strategic planners).

But support for the war went from over 70% down to about 25-30% today. So how did most of the war's former supporters go from being informed to being uninformed? Please give a valid answer this time, not one based on the usual right-wing kneejerk thoughts favored by soldier-hating Oxycontin addicts.

A scenario that could easily have been avoided by not going to war against Iraq and destroying a secular state that was an enemy of Iran. That is the real no-brainer that was obvious to everybody who knew even the slightest about the Middle East.

We've greatly increased Iran's will to build the bomb because they see it as a deterrent against invasion, and the weakness we've shown in Iraq has only emboldened them. The smart thing to have done was negotiate peace with them just after we overran Afghanistan.

What happened to the old neocon talking point that said Iraq shipped its WMDs to Syria? At least with Syria, Saddam would have been sending his WMDs to fellow Arabs and Baathists, but with Iran he'd be dealing Persians, an ethnic group he loathed more than any other, except maybe Jews, and Iran had been at war with Iraq in the 1980s. As someone told you earlier, you need to think more before you type.

You're not making sense because if we hadn't invaded Iraq, we would be perceived as being much more powerful to Iran. Not only that, but Iran had actually warmed up to the US after we knocked out the Taliban and al Qaeda from Afghanistan.

So far, you haven't made a bit of sense on the Iraq war, Dbu.

They won't because they can't. Iran is too far away, its nuclear facilities are spread out in underground facilities, and, worst of all, ever since its battle with Hamas in Lebanon, Muslim nations in the Middle East see Israel as a much weaker power that can't withstand a long war of attrition against a guerilla force. IOW Israel won't be able to disarm Iran of nuclear weapons the way it did to Iraq in 1981.

The reality is that Iran will eventually build and own nuclear weapons unless an Iranian FW der Klerk or Nelson Mandella comes to power.

It's been doing much more for Iraqi refugees than the US has. It's health programs have also been effective.

Pakistan has three interesting things that you never mention:

1) The bomb 2) A very shaky government whose military is sympathetic to our enemies 3) F-16 jets which GWB agreed to sell them in unlimited quantities. Perfect for delivering the bomb.

Either address this issue, or STFU about Iran.

Stand by the the next stupid move in Afghanistan: A Colombia-style campaign to destroy the opium crop. Nobody thinks the crop isn't valuable to the Taliban. But, people have been raising opium for generations in Afghanistan. After we destroy their livelihood, I wonder what we'll "help" them replace it with? Peanuts?

When you mess with peoples' ability to feed their families, you definitely win their hearts & minds.

How do you know those F-16's can deliver THEIR bomb?

Unlimited quantities of F-16's? Surely there will be a limit to how many we sell. Where do you come up with "unlimited"?

Did the U.S. sell them a spare parts contract also?

Musharoff has just been elected president by a overwhelming majority. Pakistan seems stable now. Why do you think it is an unstable government today?

Never mind. I forgot that you don't read.

Don't want to answer my questions again, ok.

I'd love to answer your questions, Clevis. But, your questions prove that for the last several years, you have been blissfully oblivious to an awful lot of published information about Pakistan, some of it involving information from people wearing AMERICAN MILITARY UNIFORMS, so you cannot question their information.

The only way I could answer your questions would be to spend hours gathering information for you. I know you don't expect me to do that.

It would help if you had a better news source than this:

Wait a second!! I'm still waiting for YOU to answer question's from yesterday! Or is this typical?

Repeat the question. I suspect if I knew the answer I would have responded. Perhaps I didn't know the answer. Do you ever have a questions asked of you and not know what to say. Some questions are loaded, no matter what answer you give it will be wrong. You know what I mean?

Apparently the real problem isn't Pakistan's military but its intelligence service, which is dominated by fundamentalist who are very supportive of al Qaeda.

The bomb is extremely popular among Pakistan's citizens, such a great source of pride that many villages have built monuments to it.

Pakistan is our ally. Our esteemed President Shrub keeps telling us they're our ally, even though...

Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of the Pakistani bomb, acknowledged that during the past two decades he had secretly provided North Korea, Libya, and Iran with crucial technological and intellectual building blocks for making nuclear weapons. Khan, considered a national hero, apologized to the people of Pakistan for what he had done and was pardoned by Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf shortly afterward.

The world's first atomic bombs weighed about 9,000-10,000 lbs., and the F-16C can carry four 2,000 lb. bombs. I couldn't find the weights of Pakistani nukes, but here are the weights of American nukes, and notice that even some old ones from the 1950s weigh less than 2,000 lbs.:

How hard do you think it is to buy black market spare parts for the world's most popular fighter plane? Then there's the matter of cannibalizing parts from other F-16s.

Like Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, Musharoff first gained power through a coup, meaning none of his subsequent election victories have been truly legitimate.

Because a lot of people hate him for having just a mustache and no beard. Take a crack at explaining what that means and why it's very important.

Everyone in this NG knows by now he always 'answers' any question with a question! Ignore him. The only people he influences are the other lefty kooks in this NG LOL

mike

Our friend Moe is the resident expert on Iraq. After all he is the only one in the NG who knows we are not fighting radial Islamic terrorist in Iraq. The Dims have been telling him that for four years now, it MUST be true LOL

Your weight estimates are close for the A-bomb, but some of the first thermonukes came in much heavier at more than 40000 lbs. The MK 36 from the mid 50's came in at over 17000 lbs. Which ones from the fities weighed in at 2000 lbs?

Reliable black market parts are not easy to come by. Who would sell them? Israel? LOL.

They can canibalize for only so long. The F-16 requires a lot of maintenance. It's not your J-3 you know.

I wouldn't say that. The last election was a landslide. Like the Republicans are going to do to billary.

I hear tell a lot of people like him. I guess you and I hear from different sources.

Your powers of ignorance are truly impressive.

If these F-16s are so inconsequential, how come the government of India raised such a stink about them?

I'm sure you knew the answer but found it easier to avoid answering. As I said, typical.

LOL. I know you have zero knowlege about airplanes.

You should stick with cooking, baking and gardening.
