Bug shop in town. :-(

Peter is making things up here, folks. I'll put the email into the archive to share later. What a j****ff.

And just when did you become the authority in vehicular handling? Any vehicle, regardless of age/brand/condition, represents a sizeable investment. Now, call me crazy, but why on earth would I jeopardize that investment if I am not confident in my own mechanical abilities? I am not about to risk my vehicle's engine over the $30-$40 it will cost me to have someone more experienced service the vehicle.

I have gotten some pretty scary emails from peter in the past... and i think it was my response to those emails (or lack thereof) that made peter turn on me...

I'm ugly and old. You should look this good at my age. Now, wanna arm wrestle? Box? Or just play mind games.Sorry, you don't have the equipment for the later.

That was completely unnecessary.

JUST WHAT THE F*CK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Read the email message again, you creep. You are making things up. It is UNFORGIVABLE to do what you just did - making something up in the group that does not exist to a rational man. You do understand, right? ________________________________________

"Thou shall not lie".....tsk, tsk....John, isn't the above a classic example of your petty behaviour?

Seems like I remember many on the group describing you and another poster, in much the same way. Besides, John has seniority. I remember a thread a few years ago on just that subject.

If it's that bitter, keep your tongue in your mouth.

Oh, cheap shots.....and, I am sure that if you actually were someone important, I would care what you said.

Peter, I have made a collection of your wit and wisdom. It fits on the back of a matchbook.

Oh ya big wus. The cold is all in your impoverished imagination. NO! You can't hug me. Go away.

damn John, you do look pretty good for 600...LOL...(btw...that is definitely a joke..you don't look a day over 450...hehe joke again) Whoever

Okay, if it's a tie, I'm pretty happy.

John, tell me something, because, I really need to get a handle on this: Does it hurt your back to kiss your own ass so much? I'm really confused, as I didn't think men over the age of 55 had that much flexibility.

No, no. That's not me yer talking about. Can't be me. Maybe my dog?

jealousy is such an ugly thing...

NO you told me that there was more than one code for the radio... I knew that the code was the correct code for the radio as it was given to me by the PO and I had used it in the radio on many occasions... and you knew this... yet you insisted that there were other codes for the radio, yet you could never produce any... much like you could never produce the bumper shocks for a 74 beetle... and i had my VW guy search for those parts (funny how they get the from the same parts house you do) and he said they were not available. PERIOD. so unless you know of some dealership that has the parts sitting on there shelf and those parts are not in anyway logged with VW that they have those parts... which you seem to be the only one that knows these parts exist... then the parts in fact DO NOT EXIST!

i'll answer...but i doubt you will actually believe me, but it is the proper procedure... ....run the piss outta the engine to get it hot...preferably slightly hotter than normal operating temp...(you can bypass this step if you have head temp guages by removing the fanbelt, then running the engine till it gets a wee bit hotter than normal then shut off and adjust to loose zero) then come back and pop off the covers, shut down engine, loosen all jamnuts on the adjusters, restart engine and adjust the valves till they quit clicking...when done with them all(and you better have been fast) shut down engine, tighten the jamnuts(make sure you back them up so you don't change your settings) replace covers, sit back and enjoy a cold beer....vw actually is one of the few engines that does not list a "hot" valve lash...most certainly because of the expansion factor you mention....but anyway, that is th way to properly adjust valves hot....it makes a mess..... Joey

KEEERIST! One bolt? I been sucking it out of the oil-stick for years.

I don;t have them any longer... i don't think... my computer crashed a couple months ago and i backed up what i thought to be all of the important files (mostly pictures i had taken and current school work) but i think i neglected to save any emails... several people do know about the emails though...

i wished you would go away.... yeah... but as for the emails, they were very real.
