Bug shop in town. :-(

About 1 1/2 years ago I talked to the owner of what is probably the only Bugshop in the whole state. You may remember me posting his statement aboutthe condition of the heater channels not being important because Beetlesweren't made to be driven in cold weather. (Yeah right! It never gets coldin Germany!) He just looked at me like he didn't have a clue when Imentioned the strength of the car depending upon the heater channels.Well just for the heck of it I thought I'd call him to see what he chargesfor an oil change and a valve adjustment. He said about $50. When I askedhim how long I'd have to leave the car he said they could do it while Iwait!Yep, I can drive 15 miles on the interstate, pull the car into the shop, andthey can adjust the valves right then!Now am I wrong or aren't you (ideally) supposed to wait overnight to do avalve adjustment or was Muir just being anal retentive? It seems that evenif you do it according to the Bentley manual (with a fan cooling the enginedown first) you're still talking about 2 or 3 hours at best, right? 2 or 3hours is not 'while you wait' in my book.I'm now convinced more than ever that if anything happens to my Bug it's allup to you folks, Bentley, and Muir to explain to me how to fix it.
