bus boys rant

Mar 21, 2005 2 Replies

we had ordered the boots that go on the shift rod tube in the body of my son's 73 bus. this was 5 weeks ago !! after telling us that the items (we got several things ) would be shipped that day or the next, we finally called after 2 weeks to find out that they were waiting for the shift rod tube boots. screw that, send us what you got, we have things to do. after 3 weeks, i ordered them from another company along with other stuff, got them, put them on, now the tranny is finally installed. we are still waiting for the original order from bus boys. i can use the same boots on my

67 westy, so it is no big deal now.

can't order over the internet, have to call or fax it in, they waited - no courtesy call or email to tell us what the heck is the big holdup, we are entering in the fifth week of waiting for parts. seems like a big P.I.T.A.

and, no- i did not see these particular items at AC.net !!

anyone else have a similar experience ??

TIA bob

I made a rather large order with them a couple of years ago and had no problems. Everything showed up in a little over a week.

I had an order with them that just never seemed to work out. It went on for I think about 6 weeks. It started out as taillight assemblies, but one bulb holder was missing. They immediately sent a replacement, but it was German and did not fit the Brazilian assemblies. They tried again, also incorrect. Looking at the two assemblies I had, each was different! They never did find the correct bulb holders, so eventually they sent another complete taillight assembly, apologized, and told me to keep everything - I might need them for parts! Turns out that there are several manufacturers and each has their own variations. I was happy with the final resolution but frustrated with the time frame. I had however set myself up for it initially telling them I had a few weeks!

What frustrates me more is Bus Depot! They won't sell to me because my credit card billing address is a PO Box. They suggested that I contact my bank and change the address to my home address in order for them to fill this order and I could easily have the bank change it back again after this order if I so chose! They said it was for security, but they could not comprehend that I have the credit card at a Post Office rather than the mailbox at the end of the driveway that is accessible to anyone from the time the mail is placed in there until I get home from work after dark... There was absolutely no way around it from their standpoint. I was not asking for delivery to a PO box, it jsut so happens that IS my address for billing. THAT is why I went to Bus Boys.
