OT: Off Road Game for Travis

Been playing "Screamer 4x4" for the past 2 hours, and I think it's fun :)

Try it if you can get your hands on it, if ya can't but would like to , lemme know I'll send you an original. Found them insanely cheap (like 3 bucks each) in my town.

Oh yea, I have a steering wheel and pedals. Wouldn't drive any other way :D

At first you are stuck with two vehicle choices, a Land Rover Defender and a CJ-7... as you gain more experience and win a few events, you get upgrades to the vehicles (V8 engine was easy to get for the CJ-7) and you get to drive more cars too:

Jeep Cherokee Jeep Wrangler Toyota Landcruiser Toyota Hi-Lux Pickup Mitsubishi Shogun Mercedes G Mercedes Unimog Raba H-18

Can't wait to get my hands on the Unimog.. would like one in real life too :D

Who would want to drive another car after you've driven a CJ? I don't follow... :-)

It's a v-8 thing. ;-) Man, I was just looking at how they're gonna fit... I'm gonna have to install the headers and drive to an exhaust shop for them to do some creative pipe-bending to tie into the existing dual exhaust system. The headers exit much closer to the sides of the body than the exhaust manifolds and down-tubes do. Mo money, mo money. :-/

Note to self: Never say you like to play in mud holes again. End of note to self.

Thanks, Jan. It looks pretty cool. If I see a copy of it locally then I'll pick it up. I see it on ebay in a few places but shipping for it is as much as the price. :-) I don't get into computer games much at all unless you count the "real" computer games like the old Infocom series... This stuff:

...hell no, mine is not ready for that treatment yet....hell I still don't have a sand seal or skid plates yet. Just teh little playing I did with you was really risking it a litte....but eventually, yes, it will get proper off road upgrades so I can enjoy it. Right now its just being daily transport....still average 500 miles a week. with it...so I can't complain. But I *WILL* get the damned thing together eventually so I can go muddin with ur jeep =-)))

It's good to see someone have the bravery to use one

...damn straight...but I highly doubt its his only transportation and he lives 45 miles from work... its not lack of bravery right now, just knowledge of consequences that keeps me mostly on the blacktop...once I have my bug a little more protected and/or have a secondary vehicle I will hammmer the hell outta it off road....and by golly it'll like it too...lol

Did anybody else here ever play the RO Software version of DND? I've never been much into games but I did like this one.

Entirely text-based, keyboard input only .... kids today wouldn't understand. I first played it in 1988 and I still love playing this game occasionally.
