Mag lite-where?

If I were you I'd take it back or throw it over a cliff. Every one of those damn things I've bought have broken in the switch. Not only that, the beam sucks. I think they are worthless.

Me too. I really like my Mag Lite, but I tried one of those small ones to keep in my pocket of my hunting jacket. Now those things are the definition of useless.

Well, the first one I bought my kid nephew played with it for about 10 minutes and it was gone. I thought it was a fluke so I bought another one and the same thing happened. Also, I don't like the beam.

I bought this set new at a yard sale for like 5.00 and it's by far the best flashlight I've ever owned. Great beam, functionality, and battery life. Both the big and small. Talking about it is making me look for another set now.

I would not recommend putting it over head - ever. It will leave one hell of a knot on your head the one time it falls....

Did you pick up a set of the mag lite clips?

I had mine mounted to the side of the drivers seat, just inside the door (you could put it on the floor there also). That was pretty handy. However one of my fire extinguishers now resides there, so I mounted the maglight on the passenger side edge of the enter console, as far fowards and down as was reasonable. Suprisingly, it does not interfer with the passenger seat at all.

If you have a 3-cell, you can mount it vertically to the back of the center console. A 4-cell will not fit there.

BTW - mines a 98 also, so I know it will fit. =)

FYI, those same mag lights/clips are the same size as a roller fairlead, its a great thing for holding your front license plate after you put a winch on.

That is a different question. You can have a bat/wrench/etc in the Jeep. It's carrying it on you that's the issue. :)

Yep, I do have a 5D Maglight, and boy is that SOB heavy. Switched back to the 3D Maglight.

I couldn't agree more. I've never been able to break a Mag Lite either, although I've never tried to use it as a hammer. The beam is adjustable, just rotate the lens bezel and you can focus it at just about any distance. I even used mine on one occasion as an emergency studio light when I did some promo pix at night for a local rock band. Wouldn't be without it. I have a D-cell one in my Jeep, carry a little AA sized one in my pocket, and have several around the house. I don't remember when I got my first one, but it was a long time ago.

I bought mine at Home Depot in Florida around the late 90s. Maybe they've gotten cheaper in materials since they first started. I bought 2, one died and I bought another and it died so I said the hell with it. Of course I lost the receipts so I lost the take back too so I felt burned twice, not going back again. They're not cheap either.

I will agree as well. I even like my mini mag with it's candle feature. great as a first light at a camp.
