FA: my 110

Today my 1984 110 csw has been listed on ebay. I'll not post a link as that's naughty but it should be easy to find. looks like I'll be a non-land rover owned for a while, tis a very sad for me but I shall be back ;o)

I think yer OK with posting once that it's up for grabs. 's on topic, after all.

get the ebay page up, copy and paste the URL and remove all the gubbins after the cgi-bin thingy doofer wotsit bit excpet the item=nnnnnnnnn. you don't need category= or any other crap.

like this: (I reckon this is probably your one...)

formatting link
there, see, now you don't have to bother.

I don't think anyone would think that it was out of order to put a link into a post - blatent commercial advertising week after week might well be frowned upon but I think it would be entirely appropriate for you to post a link to save the lazy chaps like me getting distracted whilst being nosy and wasting time looking at every other LR related item on eBay :)

Judging from the TV reports of your neck of the wood, I'd have expected to see a Saab for sale, and a request out for a snorkel and raised breather kit for a 2.5D 110 ;)

That's the one, thanks Austin.

The folks at ebay do frown upon advertising auction items on newsgroups and such, hence my restraint.

Was a close-run-thing which should go especially with some of the crazy weather we have had but it comes doen to simple running costs as I often have to drive a few counties away and the saab is simply far cheaper over such a distance.

The folks on eBay frown on an awful lot, like daring to contact another eBayer without using their own email system. Don't worry about it. Also, you marked your post "FA", so anyone who didn't want to read a link to an auction could just ignore the post. As others have said, blatant commercial advertising is frowned upon, but links to on-topic auctions or sales are fine if they are clearly labelled as such.

Personally, I like to see a brief description and some idea of location; two or three lines. Web links vanish. Newsgroup postings can linger.

must be a more economical one than we had, or you don't drive it as hard. We had a basic 900, and it never got over about 28 mpg.

We have a 1990 9000 turbo and on the long runs if you go easy it'll do

40's mpg. but get that turbo spinning and you'll think you have a fuel leak.

A very fine plan Mark. You know it makes sense.

For some reason I'm no longer seeing any of your posts though. Supernews has perhaps decided you are Mr Nasty...

Anyone else not seeing Mr Nice any more?
