Entering radio code

Nov 04, 2006 5 Replies

Hi,

I have just had to replace the battery in my Renault Laguna RT 1.8 and need to re-enter the code for my Renault/Pioneer CD/radio. I have the code and remember that I use the first 4 preset channel buttons to cycle through and set each number of the 4 digit code in turn. However, after I have setup the number I can't get it to accept the entered code. Any clues greatfully accepted.

are you pressing preset 6 to 'enter' the code?

Yes that is one of the things I did in a "lets just push any button" fit

- It gives a single beep and then re-displays "CODE".

If it shows code relentlessly, then you need to leave it turned on for two hours then try again, apparently.

A bit late now, but if you connect another battery via jump leads to the battery leads before you remove them from the duff battery, put the new battery in place, connect the leads and remove the jump leads, you don't ever have a disconnection and so don't need to recode the radio.

On my Laguna, the tuning wheel (on s/wheel radio stalk) selects the numbers to enter, then button on that stalk confirms, after the 4th hold same button for about 30sec to complete the process. Radio comes on. Lol
