80,000 under normal conditions, 48000 under adverse.
Of course when I want to check I find the wife's gone out and the book's in her car. I had a suspicion it might be 72k and 36k BICBW
I sit corrected, 72k is the diesel version.
The mileage is quoted from Autodata.
age takes it's toll too, if it's original that belt could be starting to crack up....
The chances of that are pretty slim. The majority of timing belt related engine injuries are related to the following systems such as tensioners breaking up, water pumps siezing etc. I've never heard of a belt that's let go because it's perished.
And that's what "Adverse conditions" means.
Hence my follow up post.
