Put air in my tyres

Nope. Not expecting a medal for doing it. Just cheesed off because the fuggin hose was filthy. I should carry around a pair of gloves for these situations. However, perhaps if gas station owners could wear badges so that supermarket owners could identify them and then as they pass through the check out one of the supermarket staff could smear some their purchases with oil or grease.

Works for me, anyway.

Or you could go and get some from the pumps.

It's like that because most just drop it where they finish with it rather than returning it to the hook. Which is why most garages don't supply 'free' air anymore.

"Gas" station! "GAS" station!! WHAT !! Grump, grrrr, snarl

I would be happy for supermarket owners to wipe grease on the stuff I buy if they also provided free air to their petrol customers.

I own a petrol station half a mile from Tescos and our FREE airline is always in use by Tescos fuel customers.

Unlike supermarkets we also provide water, sponges, wipes, gloves etc for free!

We seriously considered introducing a charge for our air and waiving it if you buy fuel at the same time but it was too much hassle.

I am also dead against charging for air but I know I am now in a minority.

Its less typing and my wife is a foreigner from a country that uses the word gas. And I'm reluctant to use the word garage coz I know theres plenty of wise guys on here who'll say, 'If you come to my garage to buy petrol..yah da yah de yah'

Shame she's not an Aussie. You could have saved yourself even more typing by using their term "Servo"...

From "The World's Fastest Indian": "Do you want Regular or Ethyl?" "Who's Ethel?" ... "OK, I'll have Ethel"
