What An MOT Experience Today...

Then that "procedure" is incorrect. Whether or not the result would be different if the tester had been in the vehicle is debatable. The machine dictates both the test procedure and the RESULT.

Of cause he failed them, the roller brake tester told him the brakes were not up to the required efficiency. You admit you have done no further work on them so why expect them to pass on retest.

This is never ending, in his opinion the lights were faulty, he failed, end of story

FFS why???? Do you think the elves at the bottom of your garden have been doing a bit of DIY in the middle of the night.

Loading thread data ...

John ( snipped-for-privacy@gmail.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

And that data was WAY outside the data that is required to pass the MOT.

Conor,

Read the previous posts I have made please before posting. I said I have not made any adjustments to the emissions since the first test nor do I intend to prior to the next test.

Was this station using computerisation?

Jimmy,

How will changing the direction indicator bulb have any effect with the brake performance or emissions levels?

I have. Your car failed. Your job as a H&S SS Officer means you're not used to people not towing the line and disagreeing with you.

That was MY question. Really John you should try to keep up with this topic else people will think you have lost the plot.

A vehicle presenter does not take a vehicle in order to have a debtate, he/she goes in order to obtain the necessary statutory test certificate.

I expect the performance to pass on retest as the Service brake performance is not defective.

It certainly is not the end.

I expect the correct standards to be applied when I take a vehicle for an MOT test.

And you'll still bitch and moan when it fails again on emissions and brakes. However, I suspect you'll not admit that it did..

The brake test was done using manual equipment.

Which is a fail.

John, what is your full name and the name of the company you work for? I'm sure HR will be interested to know that they've given such a stupid clown your position.

Oh dear...

He is. Apparently you're not that serious about safety yourself.

In this case, the tester has used this evidence as a means of failing a test, yes.

It won't. So your car will fail again.

NO NO NO , that was NOT the question.

WAS the test station using the new computerisation. ie was the fail hand written or computer printed.

John ( snipped-for-privacy@gmail.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

Exactly.

Because the emissions failed to meet the standard required to pass an MOT. By a LONG way.

Jimmy,

Show me where you asked the question, you didn't. You actually said, "WOW that will really help the brake and emission fails".
