He wasn't entitled to one. He could have had a free retest the day after the original test for the emissions and light, but failing on brakes means a full retest. See

SL02136 is NOT your engine code. That is your engine's serial number. That number would also match the last 7 characters of your VIN.

The engine code I am looking for is G6. Is yours G6 ?
