i,ve been away for a bit and now i am trying to change my timing belt. i have gotten to the crank bolt and i cant loosen it, (dont have the sst of course). any ideas on how to take the bolt out?

That's just fine if the engine is out of the car...however if it's still installed with the transmission bolted to it....your making it way too hard.

To remove the bolt, use a suitable sized breaker bar (18" is fine) and the correct size socket. rest the breaker bar on the ground with the socket on the bolt. make sure the Spark plugs are all out and that the connector from the top of the CAS is off. Spin the engine on the starter for a split second and you will find the bolt is loose. In order to refit the bolt you will need a torque wrench and a friend to sit in the car and apply the brakes with the car in 5th while you torque up the bolt (87lbft for the early bolt with the small shoulder, and 125lbft for the later version.

hi, thanks for the replies...i ended up putting it in gear and bumping the bolt off. i think if there is a next time, i will cut the "old" belt leaving half of it on the gears as i found aligning the gears to be a pain.
