Obviously you have no option!

Funnily enough my Jiu Jitsu club is called Fight Club. I've been doing a webpage for them members.iinet.net.au/~ftrust/fightlclub/

You've not driven a tractor then?

Just like a weany petrol engine, then?

Agreed - I'd have one, if they took the time to install it in anything worth purchasing (ie, not a Vectra, and I aren't about to buy an Alfa Romeo in a hurry).

But we all know you have no taste / idea about this kind of stuff.

You've patently not spent any real time in a modern TD.

No thanks, they are always behind me.

Still 2 cylinders short of a real engine.

F1 teams chose V10 over V12 years back. Does that not mean V10 is better?

I'm pretty sure current regulations stipulate V10 engines.

And that was unfairly against the 4.4 litre V8 Petrol engine!!

That is true, however 90% of the teams had gone down the V10 route before the regulation was introduced. Ferrari were the only team to use V12 engines after the turbo ban (around 15 years ago I think), and they were poor performers in those years. There were a couple of V8 engines in use (Cosworth and Judd are the ones I remember), but all the front-running teams had V10 engines the last time they had a choice.

This doesn't mean that V10 is always better for road cars, of course.

Yup, true. Even thought the derv has more torques, it was still put up against a 333bhp engine - over 60bhp more. And it's power that shifts the car at the end of the day - lots of torque can only do so much if the engine runs out of revs like diesels do.

not really, the restriction on F1 engines was down to capacity, and there is an optimum cylinder size for combustion afaik, so for the capacity V10 was the most efficient, I suppose really the more cylinders the better, the closer they are to this cylinder size... oO

Yes, well... you wanna stop riding that invalid carriage in the middle of the lane, and move over to let everyone else past.

You're suggesting the Vectra is like, good and stuff ? Um...

Anyway, I'm one of the biggest Diesel fans around, after the Derv-meister. I think I have lots of taste / idea about this stuff. I'd have had Derv-power this time around, if I could have found anything suitable in budget.

Budget didn't include filling up the oil once a week like all good engines need then ;) ?

Power hits the wall.

Torque moves it.
