Heh!
Heh!
Or a tractor.
Last tractor I drove (admittedly the only tractor I've ever driven) had the governor set somewhere around 2250rpm IIRC.

Pah, modern high revving stuff!
In news: snipped-for-privacy@g47g2000cwa.googlegroups.com, snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows
Heh, I love my LPG fuelled V8.
Just out og interest, have you ever adjusted the mix using the highly scientific 'untill it doesn't smell of apples' method?
Rotary. You know it makes sense.
Erm... Ford Ka...
"the prosecution rests...."
Those that know you, know how that is scary, true, impressive... all at the same time...
Until the tips go... again.
If they were that good, they'd be the norm, not the exception.
The biggest problem with rotarys isn't reliability it's fuel consumption and lack of torque.

Aye, but for those who like their power peaky, they're an excellent choice given the sort of performance you could get out of the last generation RX7s.
But it's not the tips going that's the problem... it's the cost / hassle incurred every time they need replacing, that's prohibitive.
Not really. There are a whole bunch of normal engines offering just as much performance, and more - but using less fuel to do it. Oh, and they don't need new internal bits every 50k or so :)
And then when the whole engine goes pop (as my mate's recently did) you end up with a three grand bill to get it sorted (as my mate recently did).
Believe me - owning a last-generation RX7 is not for the faint-hearted :) He's spent an imperial fuckload on buying/insuring/running/fixing the thing over the past couple of years.
So he considered buying a TVR 'cos the RX was costing him too much...
It was a well cared for motor though.
Especially when you're towing bales of hay..? ;)
Yup, to be fair an atmo motor should have had double the capacity.

But the diesel was turbo'd. A 3.0 Twin Turbo petrol would have been even MORE powerful. They were comparing it against the similarily priced one.
Correct, it has a weany petrol engine. I'd much prefer a non-weany 1.4 TDCi in there!
Poppycock.
You can't start giving extra features to Petrol engines for comparison, just because Diesels have standard Turbochargers !
The Diesel comes out of the factory with a blower, and the Petrol does not. That's how it is :)
They all are ! Diesel = Turbo.
But it doesn't exist !
Which is what you'd always do !
Turbo Diesel vs NA Petrol is a perfectly valid comparison, if they both come out of the factory like that.
Because its better already without having a unreliable bunch of add ons to prop it up...
