Is it just me or anyone else experiencing same problem?
I have 2002 Maxima SE and for some reason cd skips like crazy once in a while. I had 2002 Maxima SE with single CD, which was fine.
I took it in to the dealer and they replaced my head unit with a brand new one. It's still doing the same thing. There's really no pattern this problem. A same cd will skip all day and night and the problem just disappears next morning.
I tried with a lot of different cds and they're all like that.
Anyone???
I've got the same problem with my 2002. It is so sporadic that I have not been able to demonstrate the problem for the dealer. Often just turning the system off and on a few times cures the problem. I also have virtually the same problem with a dealer installed changer on a
99 Sable.
I had a skip in my Bose (1996 I30t), and the dealer replaced the head unit. Didn't help a bit. They pulled another one out of a demo car and put it in. Has been working like a champ for many years now. (Knock on wood!)
Moral of the story: I don't think the factory replacement unit was new, and neither should you. It was probably a pull from someone's car after THEY complained about a skip. Since nobody could find the problem, it eventually went into YOUR car.
