(OT:) Can't Dimmowits get past Roe V Wade?!?!

Once people reach retirement age they are a burden upon society and the Treasury. According to your logic they should be put down also, whether they want to or not. After all it's all about convenience.

I have a pretty good idea since my wife and I considered that option when she got pregnant at 40.

I won't even ask who told you to say that. :-)

I am not against abortion. It's the one issue I couldn't give a rat's ass about.

But I know from experience (luckily, not directly involving me) that a woman just doesn't get up one morning and says, "Gee, I think I'll have an abortion today!"

Nobody tells me to say anything. I speak for myself.

Addendum: It just happens that some of the 'mouths' in the media tend to agree with *ME*.

But that's what the mouths in the media always say. It's as if women go out & buy balloons, food & booze to get ready for their big happy after-abortion parties.

A woman 46 years old discovers she's pregnant. She's already raised a family- the oldest is in college, the 2nd graduated high school, and the 3rd is just starting high school. Her best years are behind her and age is showing it's cruel marks- her face is marked with lines, her hair is starting to gray, her fingers are wrinkled. She's taking medication for a minor health issue brought on by the onset of middle age. Her doctor says her pregnancy is high risk for both the baby and herself. But the "moral" people of this country succeeded in making abortion illegal in order to "save" lives. What do these "moral" people say to this woman? "Suck it up"? Or maybe "You should've kept your legs crossed"? What type of person takes satisfaction in denying this woman the option of aborting this unwanted pregnancy? Oftentimes in these situations, nature takes care of the problem itself, and the woman suffers a miscarriage. But better a 2nd trimester miscarriage rather than a 1st trimester abortion, right? This makes the "moral" people feel better even though it puts the woman through more pain and suffering. And if the fetus survives and is born, you can be sure these "moral" people will have nothing to do with raising the child. And if the parents are unable to fully support this child through adulthood, you can be sure these same "moral" people will complain incessantly and bemoan the fact that the government spends too much money on welfare. Personally, I have no respect for these types of "moral" people whose main goal is telling other people how to live their lives.

Stop listening to Al Franken...

No disrespect, but that should be "most".

Some women look at it as just another method of Birth Control.

Actually, I hear that type of comment from a local AM radio talk show moron who thinks he's Rush Limbaugh. He attracts exactly the same types of listeners.

Yes and I'm sure you're just the person who can decide which women would be allowed an abortion, and which ones who would be denied. Your high moral caliber allows you to discern which abortions are morally defensable and would be granted from those where the woman was irresonsible and needs to be "punished" for her actions. Oh high and mighty one, bestow your wisdom on these poor woman who need your guiding light to show them right from wrong! They are not worthy to make these personal decisions by themselves, please show them the way!

I started this discussion not as whether or not women should have abortions; the scope must be over your head. The discussion was started to find out why everything in a Democrat's world revolves around someone's stance on abortion.

Try to stay within that frame and save your soapbox for the next Supreme Court nominee, since that's about the only topic Liberal Media will care about, anyway.

In your strawman argument, you forgot to tell us how we made her get pregnant when she knew she was high risk. When I have to pay someone else's bills thgru no fault of my own (*you* mentioned her going on welfare in your scenario), then - yes - I should have some say. Don't want me having some say? Then don't forcibly make me pay for *your/her* actions. Once again - how did she get pregnant, and how did I force her to do that?

This discussion is not about using public money to pay for abortions. It's about politicians using Roe v. Wade to leverage support.

Drop the public money bullshit.

It figures you'd be hanging out with women like that. Do they give you a quantity discount?

Aren't you glad your mother didn't choose to abort you?
