Hope you don't mind, but I took the instructions and made small website to help promote the event. Send the URL to all of your VW friends when it gets closer to New Years Eve. I have found in the past if you tell people about it more than a couple of days prior to the event, they tend to forget about it. I did put the URL in my sig. Anyone else that does that will also help in promotion efforts.

Below is a link to the chat website. I am not a web expert, so would not be insulted if someone else wants to do a better version of the website. If not, then I guess this one will do. Here is the link.

Granted I know I said "We" but I meant Jan! I told him we'd be fine but he did make a valid point at which time I had to conceed. He won. It's not easy to ignore, because without moderation anyone can come in and start kicking and banning people from the channel. I'm all for free speech, but I also tend to disagree with certain members who haven't been around long feeling free to act like 3 year olds. It ruins everyone else's time. I trust my fellow RAMVAites to behave themselves and not start "my dick's bigger than yours" arguements like the turn the one about Saddam is beginning to take. We're there for friendship, not to see who can piss furthest. I think we can all agree that if someone wants to start something touchy like that they can take it into the private messages (irc's version of AIM). And I can't be messaged by anyone who's not registered with Undernet or has a Finland ISP so for reference, when anyone wants to talk privately, get my attention in the general chat so I can open the window for private words. :)

The channel was a one time moderated by ramva bot, but since Dan and Micah have moved on I guess Ramva bot did too. I could connect a few days earlier and camp out in the channel if neeeded? everyone knows I'll probably be there all night like last year.

The problem with registering a channel is we only use it one time a year. When the channel was used almost everyday I could understand the amount of work and the need for moderators. To answer your question about Ramva bot, I believe he was run off a server that Dan had in house. You would have to get in touch with him for how to recreate something simular. The easiest thing is just to have someone go in a few days early and camp out to keep control if something happens.
