Congrats, Dennis.

Sounds like a nice place. When you moved there, how long did it take people to stop staring at you without comment? ;-)

Max, actually I love this place for all the reasons I listed plus maybe a couple of dozen more. To answer your question, the local natives started to be civil to me after a couple of years. About a third of them wave and talk to me now. Of course now I have to wave back and talk also which works out well since that is one of my hobbies. Dennis

I grew up in a rural town in Vermont that had those small-town virtues. Kind of place Norman Rockwell painted. Glad to hear that your town stayed that way. Be thankful you don't have ski-areas nearby.

Dennis,

I was born and raised in Blakesburg, another small S.Central Iowa town. There were 13 in my graduating class. Are you anywhere near?

H

Hairy, I am located about 75 miles southwest of your city. Hwy 65 south right on the Iowa/Mo boarder. Dennis
